Hyperlink to Microsoft document requests network user name etc

FP2000: I have several hyperlinks to microsoft word documents, and when you click on the link a request is made for a network user nam
and password that I have no idea how it got there. When I hit enter without filling in anything, the document comes up. There is no need for authentication
How can I get rid of this?
 
All users must have all Office 2000 SP and updates installed or running
Office 2002/Word 2002
