Hyperlink in protected word docuement

Good day,

I have Word 2003 installed. In my document I have form fields and then
protect the docuement so that only the form fields can be updated. What I am
trying to do is include a hyperlink to additional documents for each section
but once the hyperlink has been inserted and the protection turned on they do
not work.

Is there anyway I can get them to work when form protection?

Please please help.
