Huge Video File After Edit

I used MS Photos, which includes Video, to trim a 3 minute, 13.8MB video down to just 1 minute 20 seconds. After saving it I noticed that my much shorter video was now 53MB.

Why would that be? And is there a way to reduce the size down to somewhere less than 10 MB?

I remain confused.

It depends on the format you have used and the settings for that format?

You may have to change the resolution of the output video through your settings.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. I had missed the opportunity to alter the default settings which used the very highest resolution. Now that I have changed that I have an acceptable end result.

And, quite by chance on today's GiveAwayOfTheDay is Stellar AV Converter which I have downloaded for free and which does a super job without having to check all the settings.
