HTTPS problem

For the last couple of days, certain websites have not
been opening at all. Finally twigged this afternoon that
they are all https addresses. An error message
saying "The Page Cannot Be Displayed" turns up! I've
checked all my security settings and followed all the
advice I can get, but to no avail, and I can't figure out
what the problem is!

Any ideas?
