Suddenly a huge number of messages I get in Outlook are converted to
Plain Text from HTML.. I DO NOT want that. I never had it before. I
turned on to accept pictures but that did not help, only help pictures
as attachments.
This happened after I bought a new computer that runs Media Center
Edition and after reinstalling my office suite.

Why does OUTLOOK insist on protecting me from myself?
How can I FORCE ALL HTML messages to be displayed as HTML?
I have my firewall and Anti Virus to protect me and do not need the
massive intrusion of Outlook!
I thought I got rid of that nastiness when I got the Security Addin
that allows me to select what file types I want it to accept as an
attachment..
GUESS NOT!
Nevertheless I use Outlook because as bad as it is there is nothing
better.
FOR ME.

In Outlook:

Tools/Options/Preferences/email options (a button). That brings up a
list of check boxes, one of which is "Read all standard mail in plain
text". Uncheck it.

I did that a long time ago but that does NOT mean do not convert ANY HTML to plain text, it means do not convert ALL of them. Some misplaced security ruke in the code converts the ones with lots of graphics and links and you have to select to view in HTML.

I am now experiencing the same problem. Did you ever discover a
solution? If so, please give it to me. Thank you.

Outlook 2003, Tools menu, Options, Preferences tab, E-Mail Options BUTTON,
see checkbox for read all messages in plain text.

No. Not at all. I checked that as soon as the problem began. I would
never turn on read all messages in plain text. Like Gilbert Baron, my
messages are being converted to plain text without my asking for them
to be.
