All my images in Outlook Express are now blocked after
installing XP SP2. According to the instructions, I
should be able to click on TOOLS, then OPTIONS, then
SECURITY, then unblock the HTML blocking option.

HOWEVER! I have no HTML BLOCKING option on my SECURITY
TAB.

What am I supposed to do now?

Thanks.

Are you saying that the messages are in plain text or that the image are
just squares with red x's?
Tools, Options, Read tab, uncheck Read all messages in plain text.

'Block Images in HTML emails', on OE's Tools - Options - Security

There for a reason: a lot of malware emails are putting images there
which in fact conceal nasty spy/phone home activities

CrystalBall© told me that Viriginia was looking in *IE* Tools...>Security,
Alex.

<w> Really?

(Yes, but that's in *OE* Tools>....>Security, not *IE* Tools>...>Security.)

Yes, really! She was speaking of OE and claimed to have read an OE
article/instructions, which meant she was in OE...Security, from my take.
No?

P

PA Bear

Well, no.

See, that's why CrystalBall© was telling me that for some reason OP might
have been looking in the wrong place cos if she /was/ looking in OE
Tools>Options>Security, she'd surely have seen 'Download Images>Block images
and other external content...'. The fact that she didn't leads CrystalBall©
to believe she may have been looking in *IE* Tools > (Internet) Options >
Security, where of course she wouldn't see it, hence her post.

Of course, we've seen neither hide nor hair of Our Beloved Virginia since
she first posted (CDO) almost four days ago...though we've been having a
right fine time without her, haven't we now? Maybe someone should tell her
it's safe to come out and play with us now...if she can figure out how to
get back to our li'l sandbox here.

<LOL> You are one tough cookie! I gave her the benefit of doubt without
using the CrystalBall©. I could make a comment here that you ran her off.
But won't because she was posting via CDO and we all know how that goes.
Ok, you were lucky this time. <w>

Will go feed my fish now and btw, am still waiting for that "special tartar
sauce" recipe.
