HTML Emails not displaying properly

I have been using Outlook 2002 for over a year and a
short while ago, it may have been after an XP update,
html emails that used to display formatted properly, now
just show the html links. It comes out like this:

<http://images.computers4sure.com/assets/images/clear.gif>
bin5/DM/y/ha6S0HMLIS0EsF0BhEF0A4>

Instead of showing pretty picture and hyperlinked text.

When I receive such an email, and open the message, I
have tried to use the Format menu, but all the choices on
that menu, except for "Unwind Text" are disabled.

I also tried setting the "HTML Options" on the
Tools|Options|Mail Format tab to send a copy of a picture
and not the URL reference. Thsi had no effect.

Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks

John

.
I'm having a similar problem -- with HTML e-mails
(generally newsletters), the text displays fine, but I only
get picture placeholders and the when I place the cursor
over the URL links I get an icon similar to "Off-line" in IE.

I thought it might have been my security settings, but that
had no effect. This is only on my notebook PC -- my
desktop works as per usual.

Thanks for any ideas, gw
