When I reply to a message that was sent with a Rich text layout and I am
using HTML layout, my signature is only signle spaced. When I reply to the
same message and my layout is Rich Text my signature is double space. Why
does this happen?

Thanks in advance.

Because separate signatures are stored for eacht format. You can
check/modify the individual ones by ging to
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures
