hpscanner4200cwontload to xp?

help plz.--using the install cd i try to install and it
stops @":windows xp does not recognise windows 95,you
need wind98?? "...i turn on the pc, it turns on the
scanner?? the scanner is not listed as hardware
in "systems"..its like its there, but hiding.?? i checked
all hook-ups, no frayed cables..what can i try next??

First, uninstall the 4200 scanner. Then go to HP's website and download the
xp version driver for the scanner and install that. Then plug the scanner
back into the USB port.
