It is almost surely the HP-furnished driver. I know that is the case with
several HP Laserjet's I've had. The driver supplied by M$ is not a
full-function driver. You can try using the "update driver" procedure, but
it's usually easier to just blow away the device (actually the device
driver, of course) with the device manager and reinstall it following HP's
procedure to the letter. You may also want to download their latest driver
for your version of Windoze first.
