HPIZ plus 450

After my motherboard died my hard drive was put into another PC (as a 2nd
drive, drive D). I transferred my files from the 2nd (D) drive to the
existing C drive. Now, whenever I open a file, I get the message "Please wait
while Windows configures HPIZ Plus 450" and indicates that it's trying to
download or open something. Then I get a message that it can't, I hit
"cancel," and the file opens. It is VERY frustrating to have to x out of two
pop boxes every time I want to open a file. I can't find anything on the
Microsoft site to tell me what HPIZ Plus 450 is.

It's part of some HP pile-of-crap software. Search for HPIZplus450 (no
spaces) using Google and you will find full descriptions of the
annoyance and a solution. One of the problems with HP is that everything
they sale is viewed, by them, as part of your way of life. I thought
they had backed down on mysterious background downloads and other
virus-like activities when Ms. Morbid was no longer CEO. Unfortunately,
seems to be an institutionalized thing at HP.

Jeff, thank you so much! I uninstalled HP Image Zone and the problem is gone.
You saved my sanity!
