hi all, i need help with a hp3420, once worked perfect
now prints 1/2 page normal & next 1/2 faded or not at
all. also has gaps in letters, i cant even find the
maintenance section on this xp. please help.

First try the simple things...

Uninstall and reinstall the printer using the instructions at
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article One.htm

Check the ink cartridges are full...

Run a maintenance cycle (cleaning/alignment). For instructions on how to do
this, see your printer manual. Each printer is different. If you do not
have your printer manual anymore, check HP's website. www.hp.com. You will
probably be able to download a new copy there.
