HP xb2000 Dock not being reconized as a dock

I have a HP zd8230us notebook that I am using with the HP xb2000 dock. I have
a notebook with dock at work. The hardware profiles are helpful, like when I
dock the notebook it disables the WLAN card and switches to wired LAN and
visa-versa when I undock. Anyway on my home laptop (zd8230us), the dock is
reading as unavailable dock ID and Serial # in hardware profiles. What I am
trying to do is for windows to register the xb2000 dock as a dock, so I can
use hardware profiles and stuff without getting the ugly "select a profile"
message when windows starts. Thanks for your time.

When an HP notebook fails to recognize an HP docking station, the logical
source of assistance would be HP Technical Support.
