HP Vista Drivers - Missing !

Having messed about for a number of days trying to get Vista to access my HP
PSC 1317 on my home network I seem to have somehow 'lost ' the native HP
Vista drivers - when I plug the PSC directly into the PC, VISTA it can no
longer find the drivers- it did it OK before I started out! No HP
drivers are available when I manually select a driver from the installation
list...

Can I extract the HP drivers from the Vista Installation DVD and re install
them? Or can someone give me some direction on how to proceed...

A System Restore has been tried - and failed.

Try using the Add Hardware wizard

If HP has it on their site available download it, and when you use the
wizard>either install manually from a list if it's on the list, or search
automatically>click have disk>then you don't need to use a physical disk
(misleading wizard category thanks to MSFT) simply type in the file path
where you have downloaded the HP driver.

or

See if MSFT Update can find your driver

Thanks for your reply, but I have tried these suggestions, I cant find the
driver on the HP site to down load... I keep being told that it is available
within Vista, there are no HP drivers in the drop down selection - hence my
need to either extract and reinstall from the Vista DVD or find the hp
download site...

Try www.driveragent.com. Let it do its free scan of your pc so you can get
the name of it, then do a search on HP's site for it. Downloading drivers
from their site is a pay service ($29 a year) but the scanning is free.
