I used the above to restore my P.C to original settings but have lost
everything in 'my documents' folder including 'my music' and 'my pictures'
etc - is there any way of reversing what I did so I can access my documents?

Did it perform a Format of the drive before "repairing/replacing"? If yes, unless
you have a backup of "My Documents" from which you can restore the files, there gone
with the format.

If no, what software did it exactly "repair/replace"?

Have you checked Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore?
If you can restore back to a date prior to the HP Repair, you will end up back where
you were before the repair.

Hi Brian thanks for your response, Im not sure if it performed a format of
the drive, how could I find out?
I have tried system restore but doesnt look like I can go back to where I
was before I restored original factory settings.

You would/should have been warned that continuing will format the drive and
erase/delete everything on the drive and then given the choice to continue or abort.

How many Restore/Repair disks were supplied with the machine?
If more than 1 which one was used?
What is the model of the HP?

Was there more than 1 restore point to choose from?
My guess is you do not keep backups either, which in theses days and times are
essential.

Download and install Restoration or another Undelete program. The more
you use the hd with the deleted files, the more data you overwrite.
