HP PSC 500 printer

I have been using XP now for a couple of months and really like it! I hooked
up my HP PSC 500 printer (wireless network) but it doesn't scan. It can print
and make copies...no problemo. But I cannot use the scan function. I tried to
install the software CD but got an error message. What do I need to install
in order to be able to use the scan function of my printer?
