hp printer, changing distros

Hello,
I've got an hp deskjet 5550 printer that i configured under rh9 using
the gnome print manager, actually i think it was called something like the
redhat configuration tool. Anyway, i'm having to switch distributions, i
won't use fedora for reasons i won't go in to, i've tried configuring this
printer under Debian, Slackware, and even on a FreeBSD system, i've used
cups via it's web interface, and ensured that i have all the packages that
my rh9 box had on it, foomatic, cups, apsfilter, etc. but it is not working,
i can not find the hp5550 driver. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.
Dave.

Hello,
Thank you. I did do an install of ghostscript-gnu 7.06 and then i did
install hpijs. I'm running apsfilter or cups which ever one i can get to see
this printer first. Apsfilter does have an hpijs entry for it, i think it
says hpijs 1.1 or later if that matters, yet i do not see my printer in this
listing.
Thanks.
Dave.
