HP Photosmart 1100

Does anyone have a photosmart printer. And if you do, when your cartridges
get low does the printer just stop with an error message that the cartridge
is not compatible with the printer? If so, what can I do?

I have a photosmart 1115 and have never had it stop printing when the
cartridge gets an low messege. In fact, I usually get about another
month or more of printing after the messege comes up.
