HP Pavillion ZX5000 - HELP!

Hey -

Thank you in advance for any responses and the time you take to read
this.

I'm one of those people that everything in relation to my job and
making money has to do with my computer and it's connection to the
internet. I HAVE to have the ability to work from the office as well
as home. Now you understand the importance - heres the problem.

I have a HP Pavillion ZX5000 with all the kit and kaboodles. Bought it
in 2003 and like a smart person usually didn't install those automatic
updates. Well there happened to be ONE update that I installed to one
night that I decided I'm going to follow Microsofts suggestions.
Well...

I had the Bluetooth and this one service pack had a problem with THIS
hp's bluetooth driver. It put my laptop (serial number and info at the
bottom) into a boot loop while I was at work. I forget the actual file
that it conflicted with and if I find the actual news pages about it
I'll respost with it because I know the more info you have the better.

So when I got home I saw my computer (the laptop is always on,
connected to the internet, monitor extended to my plasma TV, and
wireless keyboard and mouse for the couch (which ironically I did
because I thought it was cool, and it ended up being a life saver).

So when I finally notice that it was in a boot-loop it was already
restarted automatically probably countless times. I turned it off and
found where it was getting stuck and ended up having to just reinstall
windows.

So I go to the local Target and pick up Windows XP Home Edition. I can
always upgrade to the Proffessional when the computer ****ing works,
right? ;-)

I delete everything to start over and it gets to 72% and stops.
Freezes and restarts saying there is a problem with the hardrive.
Because it stopped during partitioning. So now my computer is really
messed up. Nothing on the hard-drive except some files looking for
things that aren't there like drivers. It doesn't recognize my CD
drive to install windows now - but boots from that same CD.

The "Hard-Drive is broken or damaged" but I can go to the C:/ drive
which is completely empty except for some weird files I tried to delete
but couldn't.

I need a way to "factory reset" my computer to working condition. Any
help is greatly appreciated.

Reason why this is so important. I ran out and bought a piece of shit
eMachine which I'm otherwise impressed with for $499 since I needed to
monitor or accessories. Shortly there-after I got in a shitty car
accident where some dousche bag blew a stop-sign at 50 in a F150 and
turned my car into a sardine can.

So now if I want to make money, I need to work 100% from home till
recovery. I can't run the certain programs I want (I also multitask)
with the current machine I have. Even though I put 4 GB's of memory in
it.

If you help me fix my laptop. You have not only done a selfless good
deed, read an incredibly too long and detailed post, enable me to make
more money, and make use of a $3200 laptop that works less than I do
with out a computer...

HP Pavillion ZX5000
Product Number: DP217AV
Serial Number: CND432021L
3.2 hyperthreading... I think
Wireless..
Best for what could be purchased in 2003

I'd send it in to HP... but it's way past the one year warrenty and I
can't rationalize spending money for a factory reset.

Thanks in advance -

Nevermind... fixed it myself. HP Chat Support is a joke...

Got Ultimate boot disk and fixed the HD

then reinstalled what I needed.
