HP Pavilion Burner

For some odd reason the Mitsumi CD-RW burner that came
with my HP Pavilion will not recognize blank CD-R's or CD-
RW's. I've had the system for about a year now and never
tried to use the burner until about a month ago. The
first three or four times i attempted to use it, it would
burn 9 or 10 songs to a cd and then stop, telling me that
the other songs wouldn't fit even though there was still
space on the cd. I think i was still using an older
version of Windows Media Player when it worked but then i
upgraded to the newest version and now when I insert a cd
the drive won't read it at all and it tells me to insert
a blank disk even though there's already one in. I've
tried three different burning programs and four different
kinds of disks but no change. I've noticed that quite a
few people have had the same issues with XP and burning
so i thought i'd ask for some help.

Try and new Media (cd-r) or reinstall the drivers for the
burner, go to the hardware, delete your burner, reboot and
let it re-install, or one last suggestion, if u havent
been to hp's site for thier updates, then u might want to.

I've tried different kinds of cds and that doesn't seem
to help and neither does re-installing the drivers. I
saw somewhere here on Microsoft's site that corrupt
drivers can cause this but i can't seem to find another
driver anywhere on the net. I've checked microsoft, HP,
and Mitsume. Any other ideas anyone????
