HP Director for HP Printers does not work with IE 7. This issue was present
with the beta edition too and I was asked to uninstall the beta but the
final release of IE 7 disables the Director. What is the work around?

Thanking you in anticipation.

From what I've read, this is a known issue. I'll give you some IE7
troubleshooting links, but it might be quickest for you to post in the
IE7 newsgroup *after* you spend some time reading through the posts
there. The IE7 newsgroup is:

microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

There are a huge number of posts so it would be smart to start by going
to Google Groups Advanced Search. Use a search term that describes your
problem, constrain the search to the IE7 newsgroup and the date to very
recently.

And no, I'm sorry but I don't have your answer or I would tell you
now. ;-)

I should thank this group for providing the Mom's trick which has worked.
Unfortunately, the HP Director comes up only when the script is run
otherwise it does not come up on double clicking the tray icon.

The exe file which is d/l from the HP sites as advised by others is for
meant for the HP 4400 series and not for HP 5510 series.

I also have the HP Director problem since installing IE7. I wrote to HP
Support and tried several suggestions but none of them worked. I was told
that HP is trying to find a fix but hasn't found it yet. I have had several
problems with other software and Internet web sites especially slow page
loading. The answer is to remove IE7 until Microsoft fixes all these
problems. I thought having Beta testers was supposed to find and fix
problems BEFORE the releaes of new software.

Umm surely it's up to the THIRD PARTY to fix this, not MS. They had more
than sufficient time to do so.....
