HP Deskjet 895Cxi Pring problems

My HP printer worked fine on another computer with
Windows 98 but when I installed it on a new machine with
XP the printer feeds out blank pages when the computer is
turned on when the printer is on first. It will also do
this from time to time when a new program is open. It was
installed using the correct XP driver(HP Deskjet 895Cxi).
I checked out HP support but could not get any answers
besides use XP drivers. Any Ideas?

It sounds like you may have installed an older driver for the printer, and
not removed it properly before you installed the new one. HP may have a
"cleanup utility available on the web site.
It also may be that this printer will work properly if "RAW" mode is
selected in the driver.
Having the printer on prior to turning on the computer exposes the printer
to some initialization data sent out over the port during startup. This may
be the cause of the extra pages, or a page with funny symbols at the top.
