HP deskjet 820 Cxi question

Hi everybody
I have an hp deskjet 820 Cxi which has worked perfectly for the last six
or seven years. Yesterday the light that indicates "no ink" started
blinking, so i replaced the color cartridge (41), since the black one (45)
was still full. But it doesn't seem to be working anyway. It still says
there is no ink. Anybody has any ideas about what is happening or how I
could fix it?

Thanks anyway

I suspect it is a problem with the connectivity to the cartrided or the
electricals in the cartridge. It could have nothing at all to do with ink
(does this model even monitor ink levels?). Remove all cartridges, clean
the contacts on the cartridges and the pins in the printer and re-insert.
If it still doesn't work, try a few more times. After that, you might
just have to brak down and buy new cartridges.

There might be a cartridge test you can run, but I don't know how.
Something to do with multiple presses of the power and form-feed buttons.

Check HP web site for the light codes as blinking might mean something
different.
My warning lights came on and i though I was out of ink and they would
not go out. It turned out that the paper was not lined up square

Hi again,

I tried cleaning the cartridge and the pins in the printer, and also
some other parts which looked quite dirty even if they were not even close
to the cartridges, but it still doesn't seem to work. I suppose it's time
for a new printer. I will try cleaning a few more times, just in case it
works, but I have the feeling I'd better start searching for a new one :)
Thanks anyway for your responses. I will be waiting for new
advices for a few days, before I give up.
