HP Deskjet 540 Problem

I recently began using the above printer and find that each day when I
begin to use it the cartridge seems to have dried out and I must test
and clean in order to get it working fine. When I go to use it again
in a day or so I have to go through the same routine.

Is this normal or is there a solution to the problem?
