HP CP1700 expired cartridges. How to hack?

My HP CP1700 printer just stopped working because the cyan, magenta, and
yellow cartridges just expired. They are still half full, and were printing
great a day ago. This is just another one of HP's "rape the customer"
tricks, and has earned them my black-ball for next time.

Does anyone know if there is a way to defeat the expiration date in the
cartridge?

Thanks.

Well, you could try backdating the date on your PC. That used to work.
