HP 680c Deskjet printer problem.

Hi,

I just re-installed Win XP on a Dell desktop system which had a HP 680c
deskjet printer connected and working perfectly, now the printer prints out
strings of random characters at the end of each page. HP website says that
drivers that come with the OS are all there is, and the printer was
recognized and installed automatically without any snags.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing the drivers, no change. It
prints photos etc, but adds that string of crap at the end of each page if
it is a word doc or a Windows test page. The same test docs print clean on
another system.

Anyone had a similar problem or have any suggestions?

Dan, did you do a Repair Install or format and do a clean install? Did
you check HP's troubleshooting

I did a clean install. I will run through all the HP troubleshooting steps
and see how it goes.
