hp 5510 Installation Error - hpzgat01.exe

I saw this in an earlier post on a different product. I'm getting the
following message "FATAL ERROR". The title bar reads as follows:

F:\Setup\hpzgat01.exe -gate cue -run hpzmsi01.exe -m
photogallery -l...

I'm running Win XP and am trying to install an HP 5510 all in one.
Still no work around yet, even with a new CD. Have installed the
software successfully on a machine that runs WIN 2000 though, and am
going to try another XP box. Will post up what I find.

Update: The problem is still present. I've got HP Engineering
calling me back sometime next week (convenient they didn't give me a
time), to supposedly go over the problem with me. Will post up once I
go through and if it works.

Update #2: Okay, after much stress & many calls to various HP
departments, I finally got the HP Officejet 5510 to install. Here's
how I did it:

I went and downloaded the SOFTWARE for the HP PSC 2400/1300. These
are the other all-in-one solutions listed on the install CD. Here is
what the spec sheet on HP looks like:

Release Date: 2004-01-17 Version: 3.1.1

Description:
The Basic Feature software solution is a driver-only software solution
intended for Home Users who want a basic print and scan driver to use
for their all-in-one product. This software installation can be used
on PC's which do not meet the system requirements necessary to install
the Full Featured software solution. Besides the print and scan
drivers, no additional HP software is provided in this installation.
Software Installation instructions:

Click the Download button to begin the download.
Choose Open to begin the download and run the software installer.
Follow any on-screen instructions until the installer completes.
Plug in your all-in-one product when instructed by the on-screen
directions.
Wait for all plug and play screens to complete before attempting to
scan or print from the all-in-one.

The file name is: drv_gy_w01_ENU.exe

This can also be found on the HP FTP site. Good luck folks!

I also had a similar problem with the photogallery portion of the HP
software install. After installing the following Window XP updates I
was able to install the complete software package successfully.
Unfortunately I had been lax in the installation of updates so there
were a number of updates at one time, but I have listed them below and
you may be able to pinpoint the necessary file if you are missing any
of these updates. Sorry I can't be more specific since I installed
them all at once.

Update for Windows Media Player Script Commands (KB828026)
814078: Security Update (Microsoft Jscript version 5.6, Windows 2000,
Windows XP)
816093: Security Update Microsoft Virtual Machine (Microsoft VM)

Thanks! That's good to know. I thought I installed everything when I
got the machine. I'll try checking that again. All functions have
been working on it so far.
