howto ports

I have a problem accessing a host on two of three computers. One is a NT
formatted drive which doesn't have a problem and it's running XP pro. One
is a W98 and the other drive is a XP pro on a FAT32 drive. I have to open
connections for ports 8080 and 8087. How is this accomplished on the two
problem drives?

Drives don't use ports. So it depends on what software you have running
on those hosts which you want listening on those particular port numbers
for network connection requests. Could be you are running a web server
but you never mention a web server or which one.
