HowI find the IP Address of someone who posted on my guestbook?

I am the administrator for the website where I work. We have a guestbook, and
this morning I came in to find over 20 posts by someone who left links to
porn sites. He says he is a customer of ours, so I wanted to try to find his
IP Address so I can trace to see where it's from. If anyone knows how to do
that in Frontpage or if I even can do it, please let me know.

You can't. It's not worth the time or trouble, really. Unless they have a
static IP address, it will change at each login.

The best you can do is trace it back to the users ISP.

IP's normally change every time a user logs on with their computer.

The free Utility named Sam Spade will tell you what ISP the IP address is assigned to.

Thanks for those who posted. Seems like it will be a lost cause to find the
person who posted the links on my site. Although, if this continues to happen
I will consider removing the guestbook altogether. I appreciate your help.

What you found out is guest books are just like newsgroups in 1 big
way. If you want on topic post to either, they have to arrive private,
be screened and then posted - moderated in other words. An email
address beats a guest book any day.
