Guestbook question

I did something stupid and I have no idea if it's
possible to fix it. I have a Guestbook setup that I used
a template in Frontpage to create. So it uses that
default guestlog.htm to insert the form results. I had
someone do a double post. I wanted find a way to remove
the duplicate post and was unsuccessful.

Just to test something new, I created a new page and
tried to direct the results there. I published it so I
could test it, but when it obviously didn't work, I went
back to FP and directed it back to that guestlog.htm.
All my posts were gone. Is there anyway to retrieve
these? I can't find where locally on my machine these
are stored.

Also, the other question I would have is for the future
how I can edit that guestlog.htm file. When I open it in
FP it is blank and just says Form Results Inserted Here.

Help!

Basically, you have lost the content, if you host provides a backup service, then you could ask them
to restore the files from the day before you deleted them.

The post are not stored on your local machine, unless you have chosen to publish a copy of your site
back to your local machine. Once you have a guest book or discussion web up and running, you should
never publish the original copy to the live site, which is why it is recommended that these two item
be placed into their own individual subweb / subsites.

If you have FP 2003 you can do this:
1-Open your local web site. 2-Click on File and select publish site. Once
you have both sites (the local in the left window and the remote in the
right window) opened, 3-Click on "Open Remote Site with FP." You will have
access to all the folders of your remote site and you can edit guestlog.htm.
For the future you might try to send the comments to two files: to
guestlog.htm and guestback.htm and check that guestlog.htm is in private but
guestback.htm is not.
