Purchase the XP pro upgrade. But you might do some research to see if you
really need it. XP Home and Pro are essentially the same with Pro having
added networking and encyption abilities that are normally unnecessary for a
Home envoiurment.

subject for you to view. You will get much more benifit from the newsgroup
with a newsreader as opposed to the web based CDO format.

Yes, you can upgrade XP Home to Professional. There is no special
upgrade version just for this, but the regular XP Professional
Upgrade works fine (although it doesn't say so on the box).

But are you sure you want to do this? Are you aware that XP Home
and Professional are identical except that Professional includes
a few features (mostly related to security and networking)
missing from Home? Most home users don't need and would never use
these extra features and will see no benefits by upgrading.

Buy a XP Pro retail 'Upgrade' CD (for machines that already have
Windows200/98/ME, though it does not mention XP Home). Run it from the
existing system, take Install and continue with Upgrade

And be sure first that there is an additional facility in Pro that you
find you really *need* - apart from those extras the systems are
identical. Don't do it just to seem macho
