How to upgrade main HD?

Is it possible to move the XP OS over to a new hard drive, without any
installation disks? If anyone could just point me int the right
direction to start looking here, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

the methodology would
be similar to that if your
original harddrive failed
and replaced it with a new
one.

then you would restore
the data to the new drive
from the backup'd data.

what i prefer is to expand
the pc by adding the new
harddrive as a slave drive
instead of replacing the
functional one that has
the o.s.

the original one can retain
the functional o.s. and installed
programs and regain lots of
space when all the user files,
pics, docs, etc are moved onto
the new drive.

If you bought the new hard drive retail, it will have come with a
utility to copy the old drive to the new one. If you bought whitebox or
didn't get the utility, go to the drive mftr.'s website and download the
utility. It's free.

Many hard disk manufacturers offer a free disk cloning
program on their web site.
