Where can I find detailed insdtructions to uninstall
Windows XP (not upgrade)? I want to format my HD and
reinstall all new software.

If you format your hd, just using bootdisk to boot to dos and run fdisk and
format
If you want to reinstall winxp, use winxp setup cd to boot your computer and
reinstall

If you want to format and reinstall xp:
Boot to the xp cd and follow the on screen instructions to clean
install(format) and install xp. Its really that simple. If your computer
will not boot to the cd, then go into the bios and set the first boot device
to be cdrom, then try booting the the cd again.
If you want to format and install another os:
Boot to a win9x floppy boot disk, run Fdisk, delete partitions, create new
partitions, reboot to boot disk again, run format, install os of choice. Get
boot disk here: www.bootdisk.com

If you intend to reinstall the system, You do it as part of the
reinstall after booting the XP CD direct. Enter Setup, and after the
license agreement take New Install. When it asks you to confirm where,
hit ESC; select and delete the current partition and make a new RAW one
to be formatted at the next stage

The important point is the delete. Without that it will just go ahead
and make a new install over the top of the old one
