I have by error installed twice Windows XP Home Edition
on my PC.
After the second installation I installed all upgrades
from Microsoft.
Now when my PC boots up I have the choice between the two
XP operating systems, which is a little bit ennoying.

HOW CAN I UNINSTALL THE FIRST INSTALLATION W/O LOOSING MY
SECOND XP ENVIRONMENT (the updated one)?

Go to Control Panel, System, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, Settings. In
the System Startup section, click the Edit button. This will bring up
BOOT.INI. Remove the reference to the original install. If you're not sure
of what you're doing, post the contents here.

Then you can delete anything you wish off of the original install, with the
exception of NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM and BOOT.INI. If Pagefile.sys and
Hiberfil.sys exist, you may not be able to delete them, as they'll be in use
by your working installation of XP.
