How to turn off sleep

If I leave my computer on it will either go into sleep or hibernate mode.
However, upon awakening the beast, both my Microsoft wireless mouse and my
wireless keyboard have stopped working and it requires that I reload both
programs. I have downloaded all of the drivers and fixes but that does not
help. What fix would you suggest.

If you haven't already tried installing this update I'd give it a go and see
if it resolves anything.
