How to turn off Automatic Restart within the recovery console

XP Home which has a pagefault error on every boot. Error is only visable for
less than a second so unable to read and pause button has no effect.

Also reboots druing safe mode after loading last of drivers.

The problem is I want the STOP msg to give me more ideas to resolve the
issue, is there a way to turn off the Automatic Restart when inside the XP
Recovery Console.

Or tell me how to add a registry entry from inside has I have the string
value required to turn this off.

You'll need to load the registry hive on another computer and edit there.
