how to truly back up windows mail messages?

i can export messages, but it is slow and says they have no 'properties'. so
they seem to be incomplete. how do i fully save my messages, then easily
re-load them after a crash (or inhto another computer)?

See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx and the section on WinMail. You want to
backup the message store and the appropriate registry keys. Then when
restoring, delete the registry keys that exist prior to importing the saved
keys and check the "Store Root" value under

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail

to ensure it matches where to put the saved message store.
