You have 32bit most likely

If you have XP Home it is for sure 32bit.

If you have XP Pro..Right click on My Computer and select Properties. If
you see 64-bit in there anywhere u have 64 it it does not say 64 then u have
32.

If you have to ask, it's 32 bit.

Want more detail?
- HOME is 32-bit only.
- PRO can be 32 or 64 bit, but the 64 bit can only run on SPECIAL hardware.
- The 64 bit version of PRO says "64 bit edition."
- You would have paid much more for 64 bit XP.
- You cannot pick up 64 bit in ANY store.
- 64 bit does not run on Pentium-Anything
- 64 bit does not run on Athlon-anything.
- 64 bit does not run on Celeron-anything
- 64 bit does not run on Duron-anything
- 64 bit does not run on Palm
- 64 bit does not run on 486.
- 64 bit does not run on Macintosh.
- 64 bit does not run on Commodore 64.
- 64 bit does not run on whatever Via's former Cyrex chip is called this
week.
- 64 bit does not run on HP Pavilions
- 64 bit does not run on Sony Vaios
- 64 bit does not run on Gateway home computers.
- 64 bit does not run on Alienware.
- 64 bit does not run on Falcon Northwest.
- 64 bit does not run on Compaq Presarios
- 64 bit does not run on any system you can buy at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Fred
Meyer, CompUSA, or any other computer superstore, retailer, or shopping
club.
- 64 bit COSTS ENOUGH AND MAKES YOU GO THROUGH ENOUGH TO GET IT THAT YOU
FRIGGIN' KNOW IF YOU HAVE IT!

would it be easier just tell us what hardware does 64bit run on?

Wow, been a while since I copied my own post. <g> And to be honest,
probably not, because then we'd have people asking "Do I have an Itanium?"
And probably have one person saying "My friend has an Apple Titanium book,
is he vulnerable?"

Seriously, though, it's like asking "Do I have a Ferrari?" If you have one,
you don't need to ask. And if you need to ask, it's a pretty good bet you
don't have one.

If you have to ask if your copy of XP is 32 or 64 bit, it's 32.
