How to synchronise outlook as to be identical on two pc's

Can someone tell me if and how it's possible to install outlook on two pc's,
a desktop and a portable, that can both access that same pop3 server.
Normally I only read mail from the desktop but I'm going to to be regularly
on the road and will connect my mailbox with the portable. Is there some
automatic way to make outlook synchronise on both machine so that at each
moment the content on both are identical when I'm at home?

You can configure your mail account to leave the messages on the server for
x number of days. This enables you to download the mail to both your desktop
and laptop in that period of time.
