How to suppress PP Sound Bite Icon

When you insert a sound in a MS Power Point 2000 slide a small icon
appears ofLoudspeaker with sounds coming out, seriously spoils the look
of the slide. How does one suppress or change the icon (preferably
suppress itcompletely)
PP newbie
 
Just move the icon off the page - the sound still works but no icon!!
