How to STOP Word from launching IE when clicking on typed url ??

We want to stop people at our office from getting to IE via opening a blank
word document, typing in a url (such as http://yahoo.com), and then clicking
directly upon it. Anyone know how to disallow this kind of thing? THX!
 
Is there a way to stop IE from launching without uninstalling IE? IE is
useful for admin stuff, we just don't want the other users launching it.

I don't know if you can set some sort of authorisation on it. Or, perhaps on
allowed websites but this is not a Word issue. I would ask in an IE - or
Windows - newsgroup.
