How to stop update

Microsoft Update has download an update for Outlook (KB923095). There is
a problem with my version of Microsoft Office which will cause updates
to fail. I only have the trial version and have not activated it. I
don't use it other that to view a few documents. How can I keep my
system from constantly trying to install the update? Every time it tries
it fails. If I tell it to ignore the update it still comes back later
and tries to install it.

Control Panel, Security Center, Automatic Updates, then select the 'Turn off
Automatic Updates' option.
Now when you go to the Windows Updates site, select the 'Custom' button.
This will allow you to pick and choose which updates you want to install.

Hi Dennis,
Try to do this:
Open a windows explorer and locate this path:
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution =
Delete all Folders in the right Pane/window (like download, update..ect..).
Then Run Disk clean Up on your (C:\), open the Update from the security
centre and Check the option to Notify you but not download the updates.
Reboot and see if that will solve the problem.
If not then you need to Go to the updates site and Select Custom instead of
Express and uncheck the updates from there you don't need to install.
HTH.
Let us know.

Hi Dennis,
Try to do this:

But first, do this

From "RUN" on the start menu, type 'net stop wuauserv' less inverts.

That will stop the update service which in turn will (should) allow
deletion of files as below.
HTH.

You can also select to not show a particular update again by expanding
the appropriate selection in the update list.
