How to stop services from starting ..

Below are a couple of messages i get when I look up my event viewer records...

1."The BrPar service failed to start due to the following error: the system
cannot find the file specified.

2. 1."The Creative service for cdrom access failed to start due to the
following error: the system cannot find the path specified.

3. "The PhaseOne 1394 camera driver service failed to start due to the
following error: the system cannot find the file specified.

I have looked in my msconfig file but cannot find any references to these in
the startup file, so why is it trying to start? does anyone know what the
first service is? the last one was a software i tried out and later deleted.
The second one i am not sure why i am getting that because i only have
creative for my sound card, not cdrom access. I have win xp pro with sp2.
Also it takes a long time for me to log on to windows a- about 20 min. after
cliking on the user name. Are any of these related ? I posted another
message earlier on in another group and was asked to look up the event
viewer.... someone help!

The first service was probably installed by a Brother printer. It appears as
though the software was not uninstalled properly. Contact Brother technical
support for assistance.

The second service is probably part of a Creative SoundBlaster driver. It
appears as though the driver was not uninstalled properly or became
corrupted. Contact Creative technical support for assistance.

For assistance with PhaseOne software, contact PhaseOne technical support.

Hi Ted... Thanks for your replies. I will call them asap. Now I just noticed
I also have this message (See below). I guess it is the cuase of my long
delayed start up. How do i correct this one...

(1) "The computer browser service depends on teh server service which
failed to start becasue of the following error: After starting, the service
hung in a start-pending state"

(2) "The server service hung on starting"

My computer is a standalone desktop. Haven't even enabled it on a network. i
plan on installing a router today.

I recommend contacting technical support through their web sites or by
e-mail.

The computer browser service failed to start because it needs the server
service, which also failed to start. Were you previously advised to disable
the server service or to set it to start manually? I am not aware of any
application or virus that will turn off the server service.

To uninstall all Brother printer driver programs, go to the following web site, download the uninstall program, and follow the instructions on the page below. This solved my problem with taking forever to logon when booting to Windows XP.

http://solutions.brother.com/uninstall/en_us/

I found this page by searching Google for: uninstall Brother
