How to stop outlook from replacing email address with name?

Outlook automatically replaces actual email addresses with names. If I try
to copy the emaill address it just copies the name. Sometimes it it hides
the email address completely - I cannot see the email address anywhere, only
the name. How can I stop this annoying feature? Sometimes I want to see or
display an actual email address, not the name. Once it converts an email
address to a name I cannot unconvert it back to an email address, or
sometimes cannot disciver the actual email address. (Outlook 2003 SP2, but
this is true in all versions as far as I can tell.)

Thank you dlw. I can indeed copy the actual email address from the
Properties window. It's a few extra annoying steps but I can live with it.
In general, all software should allow you to disable or enable any automatic
feature. Charlie

In general, all software should allow you to disable or enable anyYou're insinuating Outlook doesn't allow you to do that?
Tools-> Options-> Email Options-> Advanced Email Options-> Automatic name
checking

If this is on incoming messages, you don't get a choice. The sender
controls what you see in the From field.

If this is on a recipient list on messages you're sending, Outlook will use
whatever is in the Display As field in the Contact records for those people.
