How to Start 7 Stop Automatic Windows Updates

On one of our WinXP Home computers, we're getting automatic reminders to
update. I
don't want the user clicking yes, until we know we want it. how did it get
turned on, and how can we turn it off.
 
Right click the My Computer desktop icon/Properties/Automatic Updates.
Check/Un-Check accordingly.
