how to sort chinese file names based on pronunciation?

Hi, I am using english windows XP, I use chinese filenames on my
computer

the problem is, when I sort files in XP, it seems to sort against
unicode values, not based on chinese pronunciation pinyin (or the
chinese GB2312/GB18030 code). some apps also sort chinese the same
way.

any idea how to set that? I played with language settings etc no
success

thank you very much

I know nothing about sorting in Chinese, but the way you describe it
sorting is exactly the way I would expect it to do it. I doubt very
much if it has the capability of doing it the way you want.

The chinese characters have a transliteration into roman characters . He
would have to find the corresponding transliterated form of the character
and sort on that field instead. I am sure someone else has done this
already; try a dictionary of chinese-english for example.
