I have 2 computers in my LAN, one computer running vista premium, and
another running xp, both computers have the same workgroup name, both
computers see each other's shared folders.
However, whenever I try to actually open a shared folder from either
computer, I get an error that I dont have access. I CAN however,
access the Vista's "PUBLIC" folder from XP, but none of the other
shared folders will open.
My vista settings are set for:
Network Discovery On
File Sharing On
Public Folder Sharing On
Printer Sharing On
Password Protected Sharing Off
Media Sharing On
On the Vista folder I have selected to Share, under the Advanced
Settings, I made sure I have set the Permission to Everyone.
Since I do not need password protection, is there a way I can do this
without creating accounts? If not, how do I create an account that
that the other machine will be able to login as?
