Vista lost network since 1/3/2008

Since 1/3/2008 Vista can no longer see the other devices on the network. I
have a wireless connection and have installed Network Magic which maps all of
the other computer devices (Computer and printers) I would be grateful for
any information about why this has happened.
I have these settings set ON
Network Discovery
File Sharing
Public folder sharing
Printer sharing
I have these settings set OFF
Password Protected sharing
Media sharing

I am not sure why but suddenly its is working agin - possibly because Client
for networks was not "installed" - but I certainly did not uninstall it!
