How to send messages in Outlook outbox after IMAP set-up?

I have set up the IMAP in Outlook to receive my e-mail in and out instead of
in AOL.
I have created several messages in Outlook Mail and sent them, but they
remain in the Outbox unsent. HELP?

on your account settings, click on advanced, and make sure you have the box
checked for my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. This is under
the Outgoing Server box. Also be sure to set SMTP to port 587

What version of Outlook do you have? Do you get any error messages when you
try to send?
