CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) - Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL) (AAPL) unveiled software
Wednesday to help owners of its new Intel-based Macs run Microsoft Corp.
(MSFT)'s rival Windows XP operating system...
It's about time, since Linux allows you to run MS Office XP, I would
expect you to have MAC, since OS/x is based on BSD, to allow the same
type of things.
In a way, this will strengthen MS's position in the market as their
Office Apps, while bloated, are some of the best on the market. I've not
found any open source or paid non-ms Office Suites that come close to
the functions/power of Office 2003 Prof.
The good news is that most of the nix based Win emulators that allow
users to run Office also protect the rest of the OS, so you don't have
the same security threat level as with a Windows machine.
